Three People Arrested After Cab Driver In Leeds Is Stabbed

Leeds was the scene of the latest scandalous attack on a taxi driver. The increasing number of violent assaults shows no sign of slowing down with drivers constantly one fare away from serious danger it seems. In this instance, the cab driver thought he was completing a routine fare in Leeds at around 4am on Sunday morning when he was attacked, mugged and stabbed.

The assault happened in the Beeston area of Leeds and the driver was badly hurt and taken to hospital. Police are urging potential witnesses to step forward and ensure the perpetrators of this crime are caught and punished. Heathcroft Drive was the exact location of the attack and police were quickly on the scene to cordon off the area.

The driver had dropped off a female passenger at Heathcroft Drive when he was attacked. It is believed that two men approached the driver as he pulled up and demanded money. It is then alleged that one of the men attacked the driver with a knife. It is not known if the woman was part of the assault but she did flee the scene with the two muggers. The cabbie was taken to Leeds General Infirmary after suffering serious stab wounds.

At the time of writing, the taxi driver was described as being in a serious but stable condition. It is also believed that the injuries he sustained are not life threatening. A pair of teenage boys and a 20 year old girl have since been arrested and held in police custody. The police are hoping to hear from witnesses that can help them catch the attackers with members of the public encouraged to contact them through the usual channels.
